Dahlkemper's Jewelry Connection is seeking an experienced Jewelry Sales Manager / Sales Floor Manager to lead our sales floor, develop our team and help drive the continued growth of our established independent fine jewelry store in Erie, Pennsylvania.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who loves sales, people, coaching and achieving results.
We are not looking for a manager who wants to lead from an office.
Our Sales Floor Manager is expected to be highly visible on the sales floor—selling, coaching, interacting with customers, assisting with closing opportunities and developing sales associates into stronger performers.
The ideal candidate has a successful background in retail sales, sales management, luxury retail, fine jewelry or another relationship-based sales environment and has demonstrated the ability to coach, motivate and hold a team accountable.
Fine jewelry experience is preferred, but strong sales leadership experience is equally important.

Base Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year
PLUS performance-based bonus opportunities.

What You'll DoLead the Sales Floor
You will serve as the primary leader on the sales floor and be responsible for creating an energetic, professional and performance-focused environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and store sales goals
- Actively participate in fine jewelry sales and customer interactions
- Monitor daily sales-floor activity and customer traffic
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Assist associates with customer presentations and closing opportunities
- Conduct professional sales turnovers
- Maintain effective customer rotation and sales-floor coverage
- Conduct table touches and support associates during customer interactions
- Recognize opportunities to maximize customer engagement and sales
- Resolve customer concerns professionally
- Maintain exceptional customer service standards
- Lead by example in professionalism, selling behaviors and accountability
Coach & Develop Your Team
A major responsibility of this position is developing people.
The Sales Floor Manager will:
- Conduct daily sales huddles
- Lead regular sales role-play and training
- Provide immediate coaching and feedback
- Conduct monthly one-on-one development meetings
- Establish individual development plans when needed
- Identify employee strengths and development opportunities
- Hold associates accountable for expectations and results
- Recognize and celebrate improvement and success
- Assist with onboarding and training new employees
- Develop future leaders within the organization
Assistant Manager Development
The Sales Floor Manager will be directly responsible for helping develop the Assistant Manager.
This includes:
- Conducting weekly coaching
- Developing leadership and decision-making skills
- Teaching effective floor leadership
- Delegating appropriate leadership responsibilities
- Developing coaching and training skills
- Providing regular feedback
- Preparing the Assistant Manager for increased leadership responsibility
Drive Sales Performance
The Sales Floor Manager is expected to lead by example as a strong salesperson while helping the entire team improve.
Responsibilities include:
- Achieve personal sales goals
- Lead the team toward monthly store sales goals
- Build and maintain a strong personal client base
- Develop repeat and referral business
- Help customers select fine jewelry, diamonds, engagement rings, wedding bands and gifts
- Promote custom jewelry and repair services
- Present financing opportunities
- Present jewelry care plans
- Support special events and promotions
- Confidently ask for the sale
- Coach associates to improve closing skills
- Assist with turnovers and closing opportunities
- Identify opportunities to increase average transaction
- Encourage add-on and complementary jewelry sales
- Monitor sales trends and identify opportunities for improvement
Clienteling & Customer Relationships
We believe great jewelry sales are built through relationships—not simply transactions.
The Sales Floor Manager will lead our clienteling culture by ensuring the team consistently:
- Builds accurate customer profiles
- Creates and maintains wish lists
- Follows up with customers
- Generates appointments

- Follows up on repairs and special orders
- Requests referrals and reviews

Clienteling Expectations
Each sales associate is expected to complete a minimum of five customer outreaches per day.
The Sales Floor Manager is responsible for monitoring activity, coaching the quality of outreach and helping the team convert clienteling activity into appointments and sales.
Sales & KPI Expectations
This is a performance-driven leadership position.
The Sales Floor Manager is responsible for both personal performance and helping the team achieve established goals.
Key performance expectations include:
Sales
- Achieve personal sales goals
- Lead the team toward monthly and annual store sales goals
- Monitor daily sales performance
- Coach associates toward measurable improvement
Care Plans
- Maintain and lead the team toward a minimum 35% care plan attachment rate (goal to increase % in the future)
Credit Applications
- Personal goal of a minimum of 5 credit applications per month
- Drive team credit application performance and improvement
Repair Sales
- Maintain a minimum 20% repair sales mix
- Coach associates to identify appropriate repair and service opportunities
Clienteling
- Ensure completion of daily customer outreach expectations
- Monitor effectiveness of customer follow-up
- Generate appointments and repeat business

Customer Experience Leadership
The Sales Floor Manager is responsible for ensuring every customer receives a consistent Dahlkemper's Jewelry Connection experience.

The purpose is to create ongoing employee development rather than waiting until a performance problem occurs.
The Sales Floor Manager will also:

The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous retail sales experience
- Previous management, supervisory or team-lead experience preferred

Previous fine jewelry, luxury retail or jewelry sales experience is preferred but not required for a candidate with exceptional retail sales leadership experience.
