Our customer is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead all quality assurance and quality control activities supporting the manufacture, repair, rebuild, inspection, and assembly of large precision machine tool components and assemblies.
This position is ideal for an experienced quality professional with a strong background in precision-machined components, including spindles, housings, gears, bearing bushings, shafts, gearbox components, and complex mechanical assemblies. The successful candidate will establish and maintain world-class inspection systems while supporting both new manufacturing and repair operations.
This individual will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Service, Purchasing, and Management to ensure that every component meets the demanding quality expectations of our customers in industries such as defense, nuclear, aerospace, power generation, and heavy equipment.
Quality Leadership
· Lead and continuously improve WNA's Quality Management System.
· Supervise, mentor, train, and develop a team of 2–3 QA/QC Technicians/Inspectors.
· Establish priorities for incoming inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, and repair verification.
· Foster a culture of quality ownership throughout the organization.
· Support production while maintaining uncompromising quality standards.
Inspection & Metrology
Develop, maintain, and continuously improve inspection methods for:
· Precision spindle assemblies
· Gear sets
· Bearing housings
· Bearing bushings
· Shafts
· Precision-machined castings
· Machine tool structures
· Precision repair components
· Mechanical assemblies Perform and oversee:
· CMM inspections
· First Article Inspections
· Incoming inspections
· In-process inspections
· Final inspections
· Repair inspections
· Geometry verification
· Root cause dimensional investigations Interpret and verify:
· GD&T
· Datum structures
· Runout
· Cylindricity
· Flatness
· Parallelism
· Perpendicularity
· Position
· Surface finish
· Fits and tolerances
· Gear quality
· Precision bores
· Taper interfaces
· Thread inspection
Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
The successful candidate should have extensive experience with:
· Programming CNC Coordinate Measuring Machines
· Creating new inspection programs
· Editing existing programs
· Developing fixtures for repeatable inspection
· Optimizing inspection cycle times
· Performing complex dimensional analyses
Manual Inspection
Extensive experience using:
· Micrometers
· Bore gages
· Dial bore gages
· Height gages
· Granite surface plates
· Indicator stands
· Dial indicators
· Test indicators
· Precision levels
· Air gages
· Plug gages
· Ring gages
· Thread gages
· Precision pins

Quality Documentation
Create, maintain, and continuously improve:

Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineer to ensure inspection methods evolve with manufacturing processes.
Continuous Improvement
Lead WNA's quality improvement initiatives including:

· Preventive Actions
· Continuous Improvement projects
· Process capability improvements
Drive permanent solutions rather than temporary fixes.
Calibration Program
Manage the company's complete calibration system including:
· Calibration schedules
· Outside calibration vendors
· Calibration records
· Gauge control
· Measurement traceability
· New equipment qualification
· Preventive maintenance of inspection equipment
Ensure all measuring equipment remains compliant and traceable.
Customer Quality
Support customer quality requirements including:
· Customer audits
· Supplier audits
· Corrective action responses
· Quality meetings
· Inspection reports
· Non-conformance investigations
· Warranty investigations
· Root cause documentation
Manufacturing Support
Provide daily support to:
· Manufacturing Engineering
· Production
· Purchasing
· Service
· Assembly

· Inspection planning
· Repair process development
Qualifications Required
· Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or equivalent
experience.
· 3+ years in precision manufacturing quality.
· Previous Quality Manager or Engineer experience.
· CMM programming/operating experience.
· Strong GD&T knowledge.
· Experience inspecting precision-machined components.
· Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
· Experience supervising inspectors or technicians.
