ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Site Coordinator is the lead day to day staff for the Dafmark Youth Wellness Center, and works with Youth Specialist, dance, fitness, & culinary arts educators, volunteers, and families to deliver a high-quality program. The Site Coordinator is responsible for leading youth through structured educational and recreational programming. The Site Coordinator is responsible for knowing and managing the schedule for each day. Prioritizing supporting the specialty instructors with their lessons. The Site Coordinator is responsible for planning and leading group lessons a few days a week as well as preparing dinner for the community dinner program.
- Manage a program of 60 elementary/middle school/high school youth using a strong presence, clear, consistent learning procedures, and relevant and engaging activities.
- Take daily attendance, an essential duty of the Site Coordinator.
- Complete and submit monthly lesson plans by the 25th of the month prior to the Program Manager detailing all activities that will occur the following month. If special supplies are needed submit inventory requests with a 2 week lead time. (This can be done in partnership with with the Youth Specialist)
- Lead classes of 10-25 elementary/middle/high school youth in fun engaging well planned activities.
- Serve Snack Daily prepare and serve snack to all program youth who attend both DCAC & DYWC during the designated 15 minute time period each day.
- Serve as the lead for the Culinary Arts Program keep the kitchen stations organized and clean. Put away food in refrigerator and pantry in alignment with best practices. Label all food with sub contractors names. Support subcontractors during their lessons. Stay up to date on your food handler certification. Help with shopping if needed.
- Create a safe, positive learning environment that promotes our core values of focused effort, kindness, perseverance and courage.
- Motivate youth to grow and succeed; getting to know each youth, providing encouragement and serving as a positive role model.
- Serve as an academic support; assisting youth with their homework, school assignments and helping them develop goals and organization skills. Strong focus on assisting with literary and math development.
- Serve as a support staff for specialty sub contracted educators; assist the Sub-contracted Educators in the preparation and maintenance of the environment. Assist the Educators with the care and maintenance of the program/center materials.
- Maintain a clean environment; Take initiative to refill supplies, inventory supplies, and properly store supplies.
- Let the program manager know when supplies are getting low via email.
- Contact maintenance when paper towels, toilet paper or soap are getting low.
- Assist the lead educator with cleaning surfaces and supplies after each lesson.
- Leader of the daily cleaning and maintenance of the space including wiping all surfaces, keeping spaces tidy and organized.
- Communicate professionally with families, staff, teachers and community members about the program and work with them to strengthen support for youth.
- Meet weekly with Program Manager; weekly check-ins will ensure that all staff feel supported. The program manager will also have space to address any concerns that have come up during the week in a private safe space. Creating a transparent work environment for everyone.
- Direct volunteers and utilize their abilities to help deliver quality programming.
- Direct Supervisor to GECAC Earn & Learn teen employees, Opportunities Unlimited employment placements, and Housing Authority paid interns. The Site Coordinator will mentor these young staff, providing them instruction and guidance. Additionally, the Site Coordinator is responsible for checking and submitting the GECAC and Housing Authority Interns payroll to the correct individuals on time.
- Walking School Bus daily communication; Each day the Site Coordinator will communicate with the Blue Coats who walk the youth from Edison to the center, learning of anything that the school wanted to be communicated or of any issues that may have arose on the walk so they can be addressed immediately with the youth and their parent.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates knowledge and experience of working with children between six and eighteen years of age.
- Understand and promote Dafmark’s mission, vision, objectives, and policies.
- Understand safety and physical well-being of the children is our primary responsibility.
- Maintain knowledge of, and adhere strictly to relevant facility, local, and state procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, Dafmark Dance Theater, their mission, and community outreach programs.
- Experience engaging, leading and/or teaching youth individually and in groups
- Commitment to youth development and achievement
- Passion for living a healthy lifestyle with a love for cooking and fitness.

- Must be at least 25 years of age
- Must have clearances:
- PA State Police Background Check Act 34,
- PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse Report Act 151
- FBI Clearances (Act 114)
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificates
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Spanish, Nepali, or Arabic a plus
