Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. This vital role involves overseeing nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and delivering exceptional patient care across diverse clinical settings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, extensive clinical expertise, and a passion for improving patient outcomes. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will play a key role in fostering a collaborative team environment while maintaining adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

Responsibilities

Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing assistants, to ensure high-quality patient care.
Coordinate daily nursing operations, including patient assessments, care planning, and documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
Oversee patient care activities across various departments such as medical-surgical units, ICU, emergency medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, and long-term care facilities.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA, NCQA standards, and OSHA guidelines while maintaining accurate medical records and documentation.
Conduct staff evaluations, manage scheduling, and facilitate ongoing training in areas like IV infusion, catheter care, sterile processing, infection control, and basic life support (BLS).
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop discharge planning strategies and coordinate case management efforts for complex patients.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, infection prevention, and clinical excellence.

Skills

Extensive clinical experience in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers with familiarity in trauma protocols and acute pain management.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth for medical documentation and coding (ICD-9/ICD-10).
Strong leadership skills with proven supervising experience in fast-paced healthcare environments.
Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology essential for comprehensive patient assessment.
Skilled in performing procedures such as phlebotomy, venipuncture, tube feeding management, ventilator care, spinal taps, and cardiac catheterization.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia requiring specialized memory or Alzheimer's care.
Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety.
Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education (health coaching), discharge instructions, and team collaboration.
