About XLNC Builder

XLNC Builder is a licensed residential construction company specializing in ADUs, home additions, remodels, and residential development throughout San Diego County.

We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual who is interested in building a career in residential construction estimating and project coordination.

No estimating experience? No problem. We provide hands-on training for the right candidate.

If you enjoy learning, solving problems, reading plans, and working in construction, we'd love to hear from you.

Position Overview

As a Construction Estimator / Plan Reviewer, you'll learn how to review residential construction plans, identify potential issues before construction begins, prepare material takeoffs, assist with project budgeting, and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a long-term career in residential construction.

Training will be provided.

What You'll Learn

During your training, you'll learn how to:

Read architectural, structural, and engineering plans
Perform quantity takeoffs
Prepare material lists
Create construction cost estimates
Identify plan conflicts and missing information
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers
Assist with project budgeting
Understand residential construction methods
Support project managers during preconstruction

Responsibilities

Review residential construction plans
Learn to prepare accurate material takeoffs
Assist with estimating project costs
Coordinate pricing with vendors and subcontractors
Help organize project documentation
Support scheduling and budgeting efforts
Maintain spreadsheets and project records
Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and team members
Continue learning construction processes and estimating techniques

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is:

✔ Some Construction experience

✔ Highly organized

✔ Detail-oriented

✔ Motivated to learn

✔ Strong with math and measurements

✔ Comfortable working with computers

✔ Able to read or willing to learn construction plans

✔ Professional and dependable

Preferred Skills

Basic AutoCAD knowledge (preferred but not required)
Microsoft Excel experience
Microsoft Office proficiency
Spanish speaking is a plus
Construction, drafting, architecture, engineering, or trade school experience is a plus—but not required
