SUMMARY:
The Data Engineer II supports the development, implementation, and operation of data pipelines, integrations, and data solutions across the organization. This role works under the direction of senior team members to execute established designs and standards, ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of data systems.

The position contributes to data engineering initiatives through implementation, testing, monitoring, and ongoing support of data processes and workflows. This role plays a key part in maintaining consistent, high-quality data delivery while supporting business reporting and operational needs. This role will work on-site 5 days per week in Escondido, CA and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Cleaning and Transformation: Execute and optimize SQL queries, views, and stored procedures supporting analytics, reporting, and downstream integrations.
Data Ingestion and Pipeline Support: Contribute to the development and maintenance of automated data pipelines that ingest, standardize, and deliver data from operational systems into the enterprise data platform based on defined designs.
Data Processing and Structures: Work with existing data models and datasets to ensure accurate data transformation, processing, and delivery. Apply defined transformation logic and maintain alignment with established data standards.
Integration Support: Support the deployment and configuration of API-based data integrations across systems including project management, ERP, estimating, HCM, and other operational platforms.
Pipeline Monitoring and Operations: Monitor data pipelines, reports, and integrations to ensure consistent performance. Troubleshoot issues and escalate as appropriate.
Testing and Validation: Execute testing of data pipelines, transformations, and outputs. Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and document issues, defects, and resolutions.
Requirements Support and Collaboration: Work with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and support the execution of defined data solutions.
Documentation and Standards: Maintain documentation for data pipelines, transformations, and workflows. Follow established data governance, security, and compliance standards.
Continuous Improvement: Identify data issues or inefficiencies and provide input for improvements to data processes and operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong SQL and Python skills, including experience writing and optimizing queries, views, and data transformations
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, or similar technologies, including supporting and operating data solutions
Hands-on experience supporting or building data pipelines using tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, MuleSoft, or similar
Understanding of data pipeline concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and structured datasets
Experience supporting reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI
Proven ability to work with technical and business stakeholders to gather and support defined requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working in construction, energy, or industrial services environments, supporting data-driven operational and project workflows.
Familiarity with systems such as Procore, BuildOps, Spectrum, Salesforce, or Dayforce
General understanding of project lifecycle concepts, cost structures, or operational KPIs
Experience supporting dashboards and reports aligned to business operations

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
3-5 years of professional experience in data engineering, preferably in the construction industry.
Relevant certifications in cloud platforms or data engineering are a plus.

PAY TRANSPARENCY:
The starting salary for this opportunity range is listed. Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility based on company and individual performance, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
