Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Pharmacy Technician for Insurance Billing Processing to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of medical billing procedures, healthcare claims management, and medical coding practices. This role involves accurately processing insurance claims, verifying patient information, and ensuring timely reimbursement while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

Review and process insurance claims related to pharmacy services using billing software systems.
Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits to facilitate accurate billing.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve claim denials or discrepancies efficiently.
Maintain detailed medical records and documentation for billing purposes in accordance with regulatory standards.
Stay current with healthcare claims management policies, health insurance regulations, and updates in medical coding standards.Process and reconcile insurance claims for prescriptions, resolve rejections, and keep billing running cleanly between the pharmacy, insurers (PBMs), and patients.

Experience

Prior experience in medical office settings or pharmacy environments with a focus on billing and insurance processing.
Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding practices.
Proficiency in using billing software,
Knowledge of healthcare claims management processes including submission, follow-up, and appeals.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
Understanding of health insurance policies, medical billing procedures, and compliance standards related to pharmacy operations.
Prior experience in pharmacy billing, third-party claims, or PBM adjudication
Strong attention to detail, math skills, and knowledge of insurance terminology
Good communication skills for working with patients, prescribers, and payers
