Summary
Assist in the daily functions of the loan operations department. Input the loan transaction data on the core system and maintain the bank’s loan portfolio. Assist customers and other bank personnel with questions pertaining to loans. Prepare the necessary documentation for new and renewed loan closings. Accurately prepare disclosures required by compliance regulations for applicable loan transactions. Obtain and document all pre-closing and post-closing conditions. This is an in-person office position. Wages commensurate with experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately input & prepare loan documents required to close an approved loan transaction (consumer, commercial, residential, equity lines, payoffs / paid-out).
- Gather information from lending officer, customer and third parties to assist in the documentation of the loan; i.e. order appraisals, surveys, title insurance, and flood determinations, contact customer’s insurance company for verification and addition of Bank’s mortgagee clause.
- Accurately prepare documents and entries for booking.
- Setup, organize and maintain loan files (i.e. physical and electronic files).
- Assist in accurate preparation of credit approval forms.
- Upon approval, prepare package for closing and coordinate with the officer and/or closing agent.
- Review, ollow-up and update Exception Report (tickler) for post-closing documentation in a timely manner.
- Order inspections on construction loans and gather pertinent information with respect to draw, as assigned.
- Timely follow-up for insurance renewals and update tickler system for insurance when received.
- Have working knowledge of the Loan Policy, especially lending authorities, and aware of audit and dual control policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
- Loan Processing checkbacks.
- Process loan payments.
- Scanning and indexing appropriate documents.
- Create and maintain COGNOS reports.
- Assist with gathering documents for audits.
- Assist with Escrow & tax reporting.
- Printing/ Stuffing/ Mailing billing notices.
- Assist with monthly/quarterly Board Reports.
- In absence of loan officer, take the loan request and refer to the appropriate loan officer.
- Assist with additional projects or support such as escrow, tax, HMDA & HELOC projects
- Coordinate closing with loan officer & closing agent.
- Support the CRA officer in gathering data and preparing reports for the bank, regulatory agencies, audits and examinations.
General Responsibilities
· Comply with state and federal regulations, and the Bank Secrecy Act, including obtaining and notating the required documentation for the bank’s Customer Identification Program and enhanced due diligence requirements.
· Comply with all established policies and procedures related to the protection of customer and bank assets.

· Answer telephones as needed and greet/acknowledge customer in the bank lobby.
· Keep supervisor or management informed of any customer issues.
· Maintain good working relationships with all team members.
· Ensure that work areas are clean, secure, and well maintained.
· Maintain confidentiality of customer information.
· Project and maintain the positive image and reputation of Edison National Bank / Bank of the Islands to the public and co-workers.
· Adhere to state laws and governmental regulations, including Consumer Protection Regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and Community Reinvestment Act compliance.
· Be willing to attend schools, seminars, and meetings to keep abreast of laws, regulations, and services, as needed.
· Adopt Edison National Bank’s philosophies and adhere to the “Better Way” program.
· Perform other duties as needed or assigned by management.
· Working at other office locations may be required.
· Maintain regular attendance according to work schedule.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent.
- At least 1-year preferred banking experience and knowledge of residential mortgage loans and loan operations relative to lending and loan documentation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of Jack Henry and/ or Finastra/ LaserPro is preferred.
- Attention to detail and accuracy with ability to work well under pressure.
- Must exercise initiative and alertness.
- Good organizational skills and ability to establish priorities and meet timelines.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Computer literate to include typing skills.
Physical Demands
