JOB SUMMARY
The primary role for the Head Guard position with the Town of Berthoud is to ensure the safety of every participant, pool maintenance, water testing and quality, supervising part-time/seasonal staff, maintaining basic data and records, and providing positive customer service.
Essential Functions

- Prevention of any accidents by eliminating the hazard or hazardous behavior.
- Enforcing all rules involving pool policy and operations.
- Knowledge of all rules and justifications for the rules.
- Maintains a level of physical fitness appropriate to the demands of life guarding to fulfill any emergency procedures for any circumstance.
- Assists in the maintenance and care of the equipment, facilities, and environment including cleaning duties.
- Assist in in the coordination and supervision of the Learn to Swim Program
- Assists in the scheduling and supervision of the lifeguard staff.
- Takes leadership role during given shifts throughout the day.
- Attends and participates in all required in-service trainings, clinics, workshops, and meetings
- Informs Supervisor of any disciplinary problems as necessary.
- Performs any other related or similar duties as assigned
Work Experience

Licenses and Certifications
Must posses a valid Colorado Drivers License or ID card
3 months Required
Certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED, and First Aid for the professional Rescuer. Required prior to first shift. (Certification can be provided for applicants.) Required
Certification of completion for the American Red Cross Lifeguard Management program. 3 months Required
Aquatics Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator. 6 months Desired
