Full Job Description

BKS CPAs is a locally owned Eugene CPA firm seeking a Tax Accountant who can help prepare high-quality business and individual income-tax returns while continuing to grow professionally.

This position is designed for someone who enjoys tax preparation, takes pride in producing accurate work, and wants to be part of a collaborative firm where individual contributions are noticed and valued.

We are not necessarily looking for a tax manager. We are looking for a capable accountant with strong preparation skills, sound judgment, an excellent work ethic, and the ability to take meaningful tax-production hours off our senior team’s workload.

What you will do

Prepare federal and state income-tax returns for individuals and closely held businesses
Prepare partnership, S corporation, C corporation, and individual tax workpapers
Analyze client accounting records and identify missing or inconsistent information
Prepare estimated-tax calculations and extension requests
Research tax questions and document conclusions
Communicate professionally with clients regarding needed information
Respond to review notes accurately and efficiently
Work collaboratively with CPAs and other accounting professionals
Assume increasingly complex assignments based on experience and performance

What we are looking for

Prior paid tax-preparation experience
Experience preparing business income-tax returns strongly preferred
Strong foundational accounting knowledge
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to organize and manage multiple assignments and deadlines
A consistent record of following through on commitments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Professional written and verbal communication
Willingness to ask questions, accept feedback, and continue learning

A CPA license is not required. CPA candidates, enrolled agents, and experienced tax preparers are encouraged to apply.

Compensation and benefits

Base salary of $65,000–$90,000, depending on tax experience, technical skills, and the complexity of work the candidate can independently perform

The advertised range represents base compensation. Performance bonuses and commission opportunities are additional.
