Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Biller/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines accurate medical billing and coding tasks, experience with Microsoft Office including Excel spreadsheets as well as some front desk help when necessary ensuring seamless patient interactions and precise reimbursement processes. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, and possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a positive experience for patients while maintaining the integrity of medical records and billing procedures.

Duties

Verify patient insurance information and update medical records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle financial transactions with professionalism.
Prepare and submit insurance claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding standards to ensure proper reimbursement.
Review medical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with billing regulations.
Follow up on unpaid claims through medical collection procedures to optimize revenue cycle management.
Maintain organized medical records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to privacy laws.
Stay updated on changes in medical coding guidelines, including ICD coding updates and new CPT codes.
Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-in/check-out processes efficiently.

Experience

Prior experience in a medical office setting is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with daily administrative and billing functions.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, DRG classifications, and medical billing procedures.
Experience working with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR systems is essential for efficient documentation and billing workflows.
Proven ability to handle medical collections professionally while maintaining positive patient relationships.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in billing and recordkeeping.
Familiarity with insurance verification processes and understanding of healthcare reimbursement policies is a plus.
Experience working with Microsoft Office including Excel spreadsheets.
