Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for a 13-week acute hospital assignment requiring 2 years of hospital case management experience and a CA RN license.

Details

Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management department
Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Required to work every other weekend
No on-call responsibilities
Floating between like units required based on facility need
Charting completed in Epic

Requirements

Active CA RN license required
2 years of acute hospital case management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning required
Prior travel nursing experience required, though first-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
Epic EMR experience required
Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, and prior authorizations
Knowledge of CMS, DRG, HIPAA guidelines, and The Joint Commission/Core Measures/National Safety Goals
2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

Perform care coordination and discharge planning for acute hospital patients
Located in Eureka, California, within easy driving distance of 7 state and national parks including the Redwood Highway
Local candidates accepted
Local candidate radius rule of 50 miles applies
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
All travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state, and refusal to float may impact assignment status
Minimal RTO requests preferred to avoid delays in the offer process
