What You'll Do

As a Cook, you will:

Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to planned menus and recipes.
Ensure meals are prepared safely, attractively, and on time.
Follow physician-ordered therapeutic and modified diets.
Maintain the highest standards of food quality, sanitation, and presentation.
Assist with menu preparation and daily production planning.
Monitor food temperatures and maintain required food safety logs.
Receive, rotate, and properly store food and supplies using FIFO practices.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times.
Work collaboratively with the Dining Services Manager and kitchen team.
Help create special meals and holiday events for our residents.

We're Looking For Someone Who Is

Passionate about cooking and serving others.
Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Organized and able to multitask.
Calm under pressure and works well in a team environment.
Takes pride in cleanliness and food presentation.
Friendly and respectful when interacting with residents and coworkers.

QualificationsRequired

Minimum 2 years of professional cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, senior living, hotel, school, or institutional kitchen.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to prepare meals in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred

Experience in assisted living, memory care, healthcare, or senior living.
Current Food Handler Card or ServSafe Certification.
Experience preparing modified texture and therapeutic diets.
Knowledge of California health department regulations.
