SUMMARY
The Marketing/Advertising Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring the Bank’s marketing, advertising, branding, community visibility, and promotional strategies. This position supports the Bank’s culture, brand identity, product and service awareness, customer communications, community presence, and overall strategic objectives. The Marketing/Advertising Officer also helps ensure that marketing and advertising materials are accurate, brand-consistent, budget-conscious, and appropriately reviewed before publication or distribution.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Works closely with the Public Relations Manager and other designated employees to promote coordinated messaging and avoid duplicated efforts.
· Supports departments with flyers, signage, product notices, customer-facing materials, internal announcements, and other communications.
· Manages special projects that promote the Bank’s culture, brand, customer experience, product awareness, or community visibility.
· Conducts market research and reviews customer, community, competitor, and industry trends to identify advertising opportunities, customer needs, product awareness opportunities, and areas of strategic focus for the Bank.
· Stays current on advertising mediums, marketing trends, digital communication practices, community banking trends, and other relevant developments that may impact the Bank’s marketing efforts.
· Performs other duties as assigned to support the needs, goals, and objectives of the Bank.
COMPLIANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Reviews marketing and advertising materials for accuracy, consistency, and applicable compliance considerations before publication, distribution, or implementation.
· Consults with the Compliance Department, management, or other appropriate personnel as needed regarding advertising, promotional, website, social media, product, or customer-facing materials.
· Supports compliance with applicable banking laws, regulations, internal policies, and guidance related to advertising and marketing, which may include Truth in Savings, Truth in Lending when applicable to loan-related advertising, FDIC advertising and signage requirements, Equal Housing Lender and fair lending considerations, UDAAP/unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices, privacy requirements, customer information protection, and social media guidance.
· Ensures required disclosures, legends, notices, and other compliance-related language are included in applicable marketing or advertising materials when required.
· Escalates potential compliance, reputational, customer complaint, privacy, or information security concerns to the appropriate department or member of management.
· Maintains compliance-related documentation for advertising reviews, approvals, disclosures, and related materials in accordance with the Bank’s record retention policies.
· Adheres to applicable Bank policies, procedures, and controls and completes required training in a timely manner.
DIGITAL, WEBSITE, AND SOCIAL MEDIA RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Oversees the design, content coordination, and ongoing maintenance of the Bank’s website and social media platforms, in coordination with management, vendors, and applicable departments.
· Coordinates website updates to ensure information is accurate, current, and appropriately reviewed before publication.
· Monitors website and digital content for outdated, inaccurate, inconsistent, or incomplete information and coordinates timely corrections or updates.
· Creates, schedules, posts, and monitors social media content and social media advertising, consistent with Bank policies, brand standards, and approved messaging.
· Monitors social media engagement and campaign effectiveness and provides feedback or reporting to management as appropriate.
· Coordinates responses to public comments or inquiries when appropriate and escalates complaints, negative comments, reputational concerns, or compliance-sensitive matters to the appropriate department or member of management.
· Ensures digital, website, and social media communications are professional, accurate, and aligned with approved Bank messaging.
· Works with vendors or internal personnel as needed for website maintenance, digital advertising, social media management, content updates, analytics, and platform functionality.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS, EVENTS, SPONSORSHIPS, AND DONATIONS:
· With assistance from the Public Relations Officer, oversees donation, sponsorship, and contribution requests and verifies the need, purpose, documentation, approval requirements, and budget impact before committing Bank funds.
· Coordinates community involvement, sponsorships, promotional events, public activities, and other initiatives that enhance the Bank’s visibility and support the communities it serves.
· Assists with chamber, civic, school, nonprofit, and community-related advertising or event opportunities as appropriate.
· Coordinates promotional giveaways, event materials, signage, advertisements, and other supporting materials for Bank-sponsored or Bank-attended events.
· Represents the Bank professionally at public functions, community events, and promotional activities.
· Coordinates employee participation in events when appropriate and communicates event expectations, schedules, and needs to participating employees or departments.
· Maintains documentation related to approved donations, sponsorships, event commitments, promotional expenses, and related approvals.
BUDGET, VENDOR, AND RECORDKEEPING RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Prepares annual advertising and marketing budgets for management review and approval.
· Tracks marketing, advertising, sponsorship, donation, promotional, and event-related expenses against the approved budget as assigned.
· Monitors campaign performance, advertising effectiveness, engagement, and return on advertising efforts where practical.
· Provides periodic reporting to management regarding marketing activities, budget status, campaign results, sponsorships, donations, and other relevant matters.
· Coordinates with media, print, promotional, digital, design, event, and other marketing-related vendors.
· Obtains quotes, reviews proposals, coordinates production timelines, confirms deliverables, and reviews invoices for accuracy against approved budgets or authorizations.
· Negotiates contracts or service arrangements with vendors as authorized and coordinates appropriate review or approval of vendor agreements when needed.
