Job Summary
Falcon Design and Construction, LLC is seeking a skilled and dependable Drywall Finisher / Painter / Carpenter Laborer to support commercial and residential construction projects throughout Central Florida.
This hands-on position is responsible for performing drywall finishing, painting, light carpentry, and general construction labor tasks while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity. The ideal candidate will have experience with drywall finishing techniques, surface preparation, painting applications, minor carpentry work, and general job site operations. This role works closely with Project Manager(s), Superintendent(s), and field crews to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
· Tape, mud, sand, and finish drywall joints, corners, and fasteners to achieve smooth surfaces
· Repair damaged drywall, match existing textures, and prepare walls and ceilings for final finishes
· Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, patching, sanding, and priming
· Apply paint, stains, sealers, and coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
· Perform touch-up and finish work to meet project quality standards
· Perform minor carpentry tasks including trim installation, baseboards, door casings, crown molding, hardware installation, and miscellaneous repairs
· Assist with framing, blocking, backing, and other light construction tasks as needed
· Read and interpret basic construction drawings and project instructions
· Assist skilled trades personnel with demolition, material handling, cleanup, and project closeout activities
· Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment safely
· Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
· Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
· Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations at all times
· Communicate progress, material needs, and field issues to supervisors promptly
Requirements
· Minimum 3 years of experience in drywall finishing, painting, carpentry, or related construction trades (required)
· Strong experience with drywall finishing techniques including taping, mudding, sanding, and texture matching
· Experience with residential and commercial painting applications
· Ability to perform light carpentry and finish carpentry tasks
· Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
· Ability to read and interpret basic construction plans and instructions
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
· Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
· Ability to lift, carry, and move construction materials and equipment
· Ability to work in varying job site conditions and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to work occasional evening, overnight, and weekend shifts as project schedules require
Preferred Qualifications
· OSHA 10 Certification
· Experience with commercial interior build-outs and renovation projects
· Experience operating lifts and other job site equipment
· Basic framing and layout experience
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Work Location
· Multiple job sites throughout Central Florida
· In-person work required
