Job Summary
DJ’s Boudain is seeking a dynamic Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor to join our food manufacturing team. This is a full-time on-site role at DJ’s Boudain located in Beaumont, TX working Monday – Friday 5am to the end of production (~630pm). Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when scheduled is required. This role is responsible for supervising the plants’ FSQA Technicians in accordance with all company & department policies. The Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring food safety & quality assurance checks are performed accurately in accordance with company & regulatory policies. This role will work closely with production, sanitation, & pest control teams to verify monitoring activities, serve as backup HACCP team leader/SQF Practitioner, and other responsibilities as assigned by the FSQA Director.
This position does require standing/walking for long periods of time. Work weeks are 5 to 6 days (Monday – Saturday) depending on orders. Typical work hours are 445am – 645pm. Some relocation assistance may be offered.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise and mentor FSQA Technicians with their performance of day-to-day tasks, assign to work areas as appropriate
· Perform monitoring checks in absence of FSQA Technicians
· Perform pre-operational inspections of the plant (5am)
· Facilitate regulatory personnel pre-operational inspections of the plant
· Prepare for, participate in, and facilitate all audits/site visits
· Coordinate and conduct training of FSQA Technicians & assist production management team with food safety & quality training
· Provide guidance to the production team on food safety, quality, & regulatory matters
· Serve as an expert in day-to-day plant quality performance
· Sample product, conduct environmental monitoring activities, and verify 3rd party service providers are adhering to established policies and procedures
· Trend food safety/quality data
· Cover for FSQA Supervisor/Director in absence
· Serve as backup for FSQA Director
· This role is required to cover for FSQA Technicians/Lead Technicians in their absence
· Respond to regulatory personnel non-conformances as assigned
· Demonstrate sound decision-making and leadership skills
· Exercise discretion and assist with resolving team member issues
· Ensure non-conforming products are properly dispositioned and reported to appropriate personnel
· Other responsibilities/special projects, as assigned by the FSQA Director
This is a key & highly visible role for DJs Boudain. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate mastery in FSQA & regulatory requirements quickly and whose leadership should make a positive impact helping the facility to achieve 3rd party food safety certification within the first year of employment.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent required
· 4-year College Degree in science or food related field preferred
· Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English
· This position will work heavily with computers & software: computer and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) experience required
· Must be able to type 60-70 WPM, required
· Bilingual - Spanish speaking a plus
· Previous food safety & quality assurance supervisor experience is required
· Previous food manufacturing experience in a further processing plant and/or RTE experience required. Must have previously demonstrated maintaining plant success with FSIS Appendix A & B.
· HACCP & Advance HACCP Certification in food safety or related field is strongly preferred
· Working knowledge of food safety regulations (USDA/FDA) and quality control processes is highly preferred
· Experience in conducting quality and food safety inspections and audits preferred
· Special consideration will be given to candidates with previous FSQA management experience in 3rd party food safety certified facilities.

Physical Requirements
· Ability to work 14-hour shifts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
· Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed to inspect equipment, production lines, and work areas.
· Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds regularly.
· Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and finger movements for documentation, sampling, and inspection activities.
· Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including hot, cold, wet, humid, and refrigerated areas.
· Ability to wear required PPE, including hairnets, beard nets, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, and protective footwear (steel toe with slip resistant soles)

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
