Job Type: Full-Time

About Us: J.E. Shekell, Inc., is a family owned, dynamic and growing mechanical service company in the Tri-State area committed to delivering high-quality products/services to our customers. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team.

Responsibilities:

Statement Generation and Distribution:

Generate accurate and timely statements for products/services rendered.
Distribute customer statements through appropriate channels, ensuring prompt delivery to customers.

Accounts Receivable Management:

Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging to ensure timely collection of payments.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to client invoices.

Payment Processing:

Record and apply incoming payments accurately in the accounting system.
Reconcile payments with invoices and resolve any discrepancies.

Collections:

Implement and execute effective collection strategies to reduce outstanding receivables.
Communicate with customers regarding overdue payments and negotiate repayment plans when necessary.

Credit Management:

Evaluate and assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
Set credit limits and terms in collaboration with the credit department.

Reporting:

Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable status to the finance team.
Provide insights and recommendations for improving collection processes.

Customer Service:

Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries related to invoices and account balances.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate smooth payment processes.

Qualifications:

Associate degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficient in the use of accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and MS Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and completeness.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Experience:

Accounting: 2 years (Preferred)

Microsoft Excel: 2 years (Preferred)

QuickBooks (Preferred)
