Job Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a variety of machining tools to repair existing mechanical assemblies or fabricate new parts according to specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work in both shop and customer locations as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Machining Operations:
Safely and accurately operate a range of machining equipment, including but not limited to:
- Vertical and horizontal lathes
- Milling machines
- Drill presses
- Surface grinders and sanders
- Hydraulic presses
- Metal spray torches
- Broaching machines
- Various types of welders (MIG, TIG, ARC/Stick, Oxy-Acetylene)
- Chop saws and band saws
- Dynamic balancing equipment
- Blueprint Interpretation:
- Read and interpret blueprints, draft drawings, and specifications to produce parts as required.
- Measuring and Calibration:
Utilize measuring devices (e.g., micrometers, calipers, bore gauges) to ensure accurate sizing. Calibrate devices according to approved standards and document all calculations and measurements.
Perform a variety of machining tasks including:Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.Record all data necessary to meet service and design requirements and ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.Perform other duties as assigned to support company goals and objectives, including working overtime as needed.Qualifications:
- Turning and milling operations
- Boring and threading
- Welding and metal spraying of components

- Additional Duties:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a certificate or associate degree in a related electrical/mechanical field preferred.
- 3 to 6 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed written and oral instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills in non-standard situations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Willingness to learn and become knowledgeable about all facets of the company, including technical aspects.
- Must be able to maintain a high sense of urgency to meet project deadlines.
