Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise in various accounting software and systems will help streamline financial processes, support budgeting efforts, and contribute to the overall financial health of our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to making a positive impact.

Duties

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and transaction recording using software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and other financial systems.
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Process payroll accurately and efficiently, including payroll tax calculations and compliance with relevant regulations.
Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies or errors for prompt resolution.
Assist with governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting procedures as needed.
Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and providing financial insights for decision-making.
Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions, supporting audit readiness at all times.

Skills

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial management tools.
Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP standards, and governmental or non-profit accounting practices.
Experience with double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation.
Knowledge of payroll processing including tax experience and compliance requirements.
Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately using 10-key typing skills for data entry efficiency.
Familiarity with technical accounting concepts such as general ledger accounting, account analysis, and financial report writing.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in account analysis and general ledger reconciliation tasks.
Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes and tax regulations related to payroll and vendor payments.
Ability to adapt quickly to new accounting systems or updates within existing platforms like QuickBooks or Xero.
