THIS IS ABOUT YOU, NOT ABOUT US
You are the person people gravitate toward. Warm without working at it. Put together without being fussy about it. Completely natural — nothing performed, nothing brittle — and genuinely at ease with people, including people who arrive nervous, guarded, or a little embarrassed to be here at all.
You are also sharp, and you are already good at your job. You read a situation quickly, you work a computer fluently, you find the answer yourself, and nobody has to show you the same thing twice.
And you actually like people. That is the one thing that cannot be taught, which is why it is the one thing we will not compromise on.
If that describes you, we would like to meet you.
THE POSITION
Conkright Aesthetics is a long-established, single-surgeon plastic surgery practice in Evansville. We are hiring two to three Patient Concierges: the front of our house and the face of our practice.
You are the first thing a patient encounters and the last thing they remember. In a practice this size that is not a small job. Whether someone's inquiry becomes a consultation, and whether that consultation becomes a booking, is decided largely by the person in this seat. Follow-through is most of the work. An inquiry nobody called back is a patient who quietly went somewhere else, and it never shows up as anyone's mistake.
LET US BE DIRECT ABOUT WHAT THIS IS
You would work directly with Dr. Conkright. He is busy, he is efficient, and he moves at a real pace. He needs people beside him who work the same way — engaged, quick, and there to get the job done.
This is not a clock-watching job, and we are not looking for someone counting down to the end of a shift. There are easier places to collect a paycheck, and if that is what you are after, you should take one of them with our blessing. What we are offering instead is work that matters, done well, alongside someone who will notice.
This is also a working seat, not a training position. We are hiring people who already know how to work — who can be shown our systems and our way of doing things once and then get on with it. You will be oriented to our software and our processes. You will not be taught how to hold a conversation, how to organize your day, how to use a computer, or how to work something out for yourself. If you need close supervision to be effective, this is the wrong seat, and we would both rather establish that now than in six weeks.
WHAT WE ARE NOT REQUIRING
A medical background. Front-office experience in healthcare. Any history in aesthetics.
We mean it. Hospitality, hotel, fine dining, salon and spa, high-end retail, and serious customer-service backgrounds are genuinely welcome, and some of the best people in a role like this come from exactly those places. What matters is that you are accomplished at whatever you have done — not that you have done this specifically.
WHAT WE ARE REQUIRING
Real computer and technical literacy. Not negotiable, and not a box to tick. This office runs entirely on software — Nextech for records and scheduling, a CRM for inquiries, Weave for phone and messaging, Crisalix for imaging, Connecteam for scheduling and timekeeping. You do not need to have used these specific systems. You do need to be genuinely capable with technology, quick to pick up a new platform on your own, and comfortable working on a computer all day. If technology frustrates you, or you rely on someone else to sort it out, please do not apply.
Beyond that: a high school diploma or equivalent, and the qualities described at the top of this posting.
WHAT THE WORK ACTUALLY IS
Answering the phone promptly, and returning missed calls and voicemails the same day.
Greeting and checking in patients, and owning the arrival experience and the waiting area.
Working inbound inquiries through to a booked consultation, and recording every attempt — not only the ones that worked.
Scheduling, confirming and rescheduling appointments, and keeping records accurate and current.
Responding to patient messages and texts.
Preparing consultation paperwork and obtaining signatures on consents and releases as directed.
Collecting payments and deposits, issuing receipts, entering transactions the same day, and balancing the account. Oversight and reconciliation are handled above this position.
Managing the practice inbox and coordinating surgical scheduling logistics with our clinical staff.
Protecting patient confidentiality absolutely, during and after employment.
PRESENTATION
This is a patient-facing position in an aesthetics practice, so presentation is a real part of the job. We expect meticulous personal grooming and hygiene and a consistently polished, professional appearance — natural and comfortable in your own skin rather than done-up. Our patients come to us about how they look and feel, and the front of house should reflect the standard of care we hold ourselves to.
WHY HERE
We are small. You will not be a number in a department of forty. Your work will be visible, the person you work for will know your name and know what you did this week, and good judgment gets noticed rather than buried. The work is varied and genuinely interesting, you will learn a field most people are curious about, and you will spend your days caring for people who remember how they were treated.
ABOUT THE PAY
$22.00 to $28.00 an hour. That is deliberately above what front-desk work pays in this area, for two honest reasons: the person in this seat has a real effect on whether patients choose us, and the hours are as-needed with no benefits. We would rather pay properly for a capable person than advertise a low number and hope.
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU APPLY
This is a W-2, PRN position. PRN means as-needed. There are no guaranteed hours.
We are hiring two to three people into a shared pool and filling days as they come up. One person may be offered most of the days, or they may spread across the team. That is at the practice's discretion and it will vary week to week.
Day shifts only. Coverage runs principally 9:00 AM to 3:00 or 4:00 PM on weekdays. No nights and no weekends.
Non-exempt hourly. Hours are capped at 40 per week and there is no overtime.
No benefits package is offered with this position.
If that does not fit what you need right now, please just tell us. There is no penalty whatsoever for saying it is not a match, and we would far rather know early than waste your time or ours.
