Position Title: Book Keeper/Accounting Assistant
Reports To: Accounting Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

Job Costing & Analysis: Track and allocate expenses (labor, materials, and equipment) to specific project cost codes.
Accounts Payable (AP): Process subcontractor invoices, verify against purchase orders or subcontracts, and manage "pay-when-paid" cycles.
Compliance & Risk Management: Collect and track Lien Waivers, Insurance Certificates (COIs), and W-9s from subcontractors before releasing payments.
Accounts Receivable (AR): Prepare and send monthly progress billings (AIA G702/G703) and follow up on outstanding owner payments.
Payroll: Manage weekly/bi-weekly payroll, including prevailing wage reporting (if applicable) and union fringe benefits.
Audit Support: Maintain a clean general ledger and digital filing system to support year-end tax preparation and insurance audits (Workers' Comp/GL).

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience, specifically in the construction industry.
Software: Proficiency in Procore, Sage 300 Contractor, GC Pay, Timber scan.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of Construction Revenue Recognition and the difference between "Cash" and "Accrual" accounting in a project environment.
Attention to Detail: Ability to spot a $1,000 error in a $1M subcontract before the check is cut.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Billing Accuracy: Zero errors in monthly owner requisitions and progress billings.
Compliance Rate: 100% collection of lien waivers for all processed payments.
Reporting Timeliness: Month-end close completed by the 10th of the following month.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
