Full Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, caring, and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team at our skilled nursing facility. This role is an important part of resident care, helping ensure residents receive nutritious meals, friendly service, and a clean, safe dining experience each day.

The Dietary Aide assists with meal preparation, tray service, dining room setup, dishwashing, sanitation, and other dietary department duties. The ideal candidate is compassionate, reliable, able to follow instructions, and committed to supporting the health and dignity of residents.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages according to menus and resident diet orders.
Assist with tray assembly and ensure meals are accurate, complete, and served on time.
Set up and clean dining areas before and after meals.
Wash dishes, utensils, trays, pots, and pans using proper sanitation procedures.
Follow food safety, infection control, and facility policies at all times.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, serving areas, equipment, and storage spaces.
Stock supplies and assist with inventory as needed.
Communicate resident preferences, concerns, or changes in meal intake to the supervisor or appropriate care team member.
Provide courteous, respectful service to residents, families, and staff.

Qualifications

Previous food service, healthcare, or long-term care experience preferred, but not required.
Ability to read and follow menus, diet cards, recipes, and written instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to resident safety.
Friendly attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull supplies as needed.
Food handler permit or willingness to obtain one, if required by state or facility policy.
Must meet facility employment requirements, including background check and health screening.

Schedule

Friday through Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Weekend and holiday availability may be required.
