Full Job Description

Job Overview:

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager by coordinating daily activities, handling documentation, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget. They act as a liaison between the project team, subcontractors, vendors, and clients, managing submittals, RFIs, change orders, and on-site logistics. This position will be trained and prepared to become a Project Manager.

Assistant Project Manager Responsibilities:

Overview

· Supports assigned Project Manager.

· Manages job sites and performs site visits (Travel required).

· Receives and sends ITB’s and RFI’s.

· Reviews plans and specifications.

· Completes quantity take-offs.

· Creates estimates using available tools and writes proposals.

· Writes and submits Change Order requests.

· Manages project submittals.

· Schedules work through the Field Operations Team.

· Ensures the success of our installation teams by thoroughly setting up projects.

· Achieves revenue and profitability goals.

· Understands how to stay cash flow positive on projects.

Estimating/Engineering

· Receives bid requests from customers.

· Qualifies bid requests and determines if there is applicable scope.

· Reviews provided documents and extracts any pertinent files.

· Extracts and reviews bid specifications (Typically division 3, 7 and 9).

· Compiles the bid package to be sent to the Project Manager for quoting which includes the take-off, specifications, bid requirements and notating any unique bid requirements.

Project Management

· Utilizes appropriate software for creation of bids and proposals.

· Processes change orders and communicates externally.

· Handles relevant billing correspondence.

· Corresponds with foremen on project status.

· Calculates material needs for projects and change orders.

· Tracks and monitors material usage.

· Participates in job walks.

· Utilizes CRM for applicable logs.

Requirements, Qualifications, & Skills

· Construction management experience is preferred.

· A minimum of 1-3 years in an Estimating, Engineering and/or Project Management role required.

· Outstanding interpersonal, telephone, and email management abilities required.

· Clear and effective communication in dynamic team settings.

· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.

· Basic computer skills required, including an understanding of the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and programs such as Blue Beam, and CRM tools.

· Ability to quickly learn new software and processes.

· Ability to prioritize daily workload and operate with a high degree of autonomy.

· An OSHA 10 card is preferred.
