Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, including data entry, account reconciliation, and financial record maintenance. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in corporate accounting practices, utilizing a range of accounting software and financial concepts. The Accounting Clerk will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with industry standards.

Duties

Perform data entry for financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Excel, outlook.
Reconcile accounts including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
Support payroll management tasks
Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
Assist with balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial statements
Maintain organized records of financial documents in compliance with company policies and regulations
Collaborate with internal teams on tax preparation, and financial audits as needed

Requirements

Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Excel or similar platforms
Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles/practices
Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation
Experience with data entry accuracy (10 key typing skills) and account reconciliation processes
Ability to analyze financial data accurately and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
Basic understanding of tax regulations and experience in tax-related accounting tasks is a plus
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong math skills combined with sound financial acumen for account analysis and budgeting tasks
