$3,000 Hiring Bonus

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, marketing, or a related field.
Five (5) years of successful, progressive, communication and marketing experience, preferably for a non-profit organization, including knowledge of and/or experience with website development, annual reports, newsletters, social media, and agency promotion.
- Knowledge and experience in the following areas is required: the nature and dimensions of philanthropy, ethics, motivations for giving, research and cultivation practices, writing, special events, designing direct mail solicitations, and written materials for social media campaigns.
- The position requires demonstrated experience in managing and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan, attracting volunteers, and generating donor interest.
- Knowledge of Council of Accreditation Standards (COA).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Position Specific

Operational & Leadership Oversight

Operational Oversight: Lead the design, implementation, monitoring, modification, and evaluation of assigned program or department operations. Ensure all activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Contract and Proposal Management: Write proposals, negotiate, and secure contracts with county, state, and federal agencies, as well as other funding sources, as assigned.
Administrative and Financial Coordination: Collaborate with stakeholders on administrative and financial matters, assist with marketing efforts, and build relationships with external partners.
Representation and Advocacy: Serve as an agency representative at internal and external meetings, promotional events, workgroups, and professional organizations.
Elected Official Relations: Maintain up-to-date contacts for all local and district elected officials that represent geographic areas that the agency serves. Ensure elected officials are aware of and included in communications related to Agency events and Agency impact.
Team Leadership & Supervision: Hire, supervise, mentor, and evaluate department staff, including the Marketing Coordinator. Facilitate team meetings, staff training, and workgroups to support operational consistency and professional growth.
Organizational Leadership: Represent the program or department in leadership meetings, committees, and workgroups, contributing to agency-wide initiatives and budget development.

Department Specific Execution

Implement the Agency marketing and communications strategy.
Agency & Leadership Showcasing: Actively research, pursue, and secure strategic community opportunities—such as panel discussions, awards, professional speaking engagements, community forums, and thought-leadership platforms—to showcase and position the agency, its leadership, and its staff.
Planned Giving Support: In conjunction with the Executive Director and the CEO, support the strategic development, marketing infrastructure, and communication execution of the organization's planned giving initiatives.
Play a lead role in writing, editing, and co-producing written material across all agency marketing collateral.
Ensure the implementation of the branding guidelines and messaging across the agency; critically review and update printed materials such as brochures, newsletters, and promotional products.
Oversee and share in the day-to-day development of website updates, digital footprints, and the Marketing Plan to increase Agency visibility, site visitation, and engagement.
Manage online activities, including routine updates to the website, execution of the monthly newsletter, and development of innovative data visualizations such as infographics.
Take the lead in organizing media outreach; arrange all media contacts, press briefings, and interviews; provide talking points and other materials as needed; respond to media inquiries quickly and effectively.
Evaluate results and impact of communications activities; report on developments, trends, and digital metrics to the Executive Director.
Manage creative campaigns for print projects, direct mail, advertising, e-newsletters, and web initiatives.
Provide input and monitor the annual marketing budget.
Serve as a staff member of the Board Development Committee.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with representatives of the community, stakeholders, employees, and public interest groups.
Secure event sponsorships through outreach and partnership with local business groups.
Participate in agency events to facilitate a connection to program staff and support department staff.

Agency Specific

Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the principles and values of agency, while adhering to applicable professional codes of ethics, the agency’s policies and procedures, contractor requirements, and regulatory requirements.
Model and communicate appropriate positive attitudes toward the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values
Work collaboratively with all agency programs and staff to provide support as needed
Utilize and maintain calendar with all work-related details in order to manage time effectively and share calendar information with coworkers
Participate in on-going training to expand and develop professional skills
Perform other duties as necessary for the agency, as assigned

Employment At-Will
Employment at the Agency is terminable at-will, which means that employment may be
terminated at any time, without cause or reason, by either the employee or the Agency. In
addition the Agency may also demote, layoff, transfer or reassign employees at any time at its
sole discretion without cause or reason.

Compensation
The posted salary band represents the full pay range for this role and reflects opportunities for compensation growth over time. The typical hiring range reflects where we reasonably expect to make offers to new hires based on relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

Typical hiring range: $95,000 – $112,000 per year

Full salary band: $95,000 – $130,000 per year

Compensation offers are made through our established compensation framework to promote fairness, consistency, and internal equity.
