Job Title: Medical Receptionist

Job Description:

North Star Plastic Surgery is seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist with billing experience to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences. The medical receptionist will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy in medical coding, and facilitating the collection of payments from patients and insurance companies. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and proficiency in various billing systems. We are interviewing to hire someone with experience in the medical field, who matches the requirements both personally and professionally to work in a specialty, cosmetic clinic.

Responsibilities:

Front Desk Duties:
Greet patients and visitors warmly.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries.
Schedule appointments and manage the clinic calendar.
Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality.
Billing Responsibilities:
Verification of patient's insurance information and assessing insurance deductibles and processing payments.
Handle billing inquiries.
Assist in managing accounts receivable and collections.
Review patient records for accuracy and completeness before billing.
Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies with insurance providers.
Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in medical billing or administration is a plus.
Previous experience in a medical billing required
Experience in medical collections preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in medical billing software and office management systems.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and insurance companies.
Attention to personal appearance required for cosmetic specialty clinic.
