IMMEDIATE TEMP HR Clerk – Employee Records

Location: Smyrna, GA 30082 (In-Office)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM (1-hour lunch)
Position Type: Temporary | Approximately 4–5 Months

Our client in the healthcare industry is seeking an HR Clerk to support the Human Resources department by maintaining employee personnel files, ensuring documentation accuracy, and assisting with HR records management. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to keep employee records organized, confidential, and compliant.

The HR Clerk will play a key role in managing employee files throughout the employment lifecycle, supporting onboarding documentation, maintaining digital and paper personnel records, and ensuring all HR documents are properly filed in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This is a fully in-office temporary assignment with the potential for extension based on business needs.

Responsibilities

Maintain, organize, and audit confidential employee personnel files in both paper and electronic formats.
Scan, upload, index, rename, and archive employee documentation using Adobe Acrobat Pro and other Adobe software.
Ensure employee files contain all required onboarding, employment, compliance, and benefits documentation.
Review personnel records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with HR policies and document retention requirements.
Assist with the creation, maintenance, and organization of new hire, active employee, and terminated employee files.
Retrieve employee records and documentation for Human Resources staff while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Prepare, edit, merge, convert, and organize HR documents and PDFs using Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Support HR onboarding by processing employment paperwork and filing completed documents promptly and accurately.
Assist with HR file audits and records clean-up projects to ensure compliance with internal policies and healthcare regulations.
Perform accurate data entry and maintain employee information within HR filing systems.
Support document retention initiatives and maintain organized electronic personnel records.
Assist with incoming and outgoing HR correspondence, mail distribution, and administrative support for the HR department.
Provide general clerical support to Human Resources leadership and assist with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources, HR records management, personnel file administration, or administrative support required.
Previous experience maintaining confidential employee files strongly preferred.
Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
Strong proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro is required, including editing, combining, organizing, converting, and managing electronic documents.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle highly confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
Strong understanding of document organization, records management, and file accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a fast-paced HR environment.
Dependable, organized, and able to work independently while supporting a collaborative HR team.
