Full Job Description

Pay: $22 per hour
Location: Centreville, VA
Schedule: Monday–Sunday, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM
Service: In-Home Support

Fortis Healthcare Services is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and professional female Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Caregiver to provide In-Home Support to an individual with developmental disabilities in Centreville, VA.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, patient, communicates effectively, and is committed to helping the individual maintain independence and work toward personal goals at home and in the community.

Current Opening

Centreville, VA – Female Caregiver
In-Home Support – $22/hour

Monday–Sunday: 10:00 AM–3:00 PM

Applicants should indicate which days they are consistently available to work when applying.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include:

Supporting the individual with daily living and independent living skills.
Encouraging independence and helping the individual work toward personal goals.
Assisting with meal preparation and light household tasks as needed.
Providing companionship and meaningful social interaction.
Supporting community outings, appointments, shopping, recreational activities, and other activities as needed.
Following the individual's support plan and established routines.
Completing required service documentation and shift notes accurately and on time.
Observing and reporting changes in the individual's behavior, attitude, or physical condition.
Communicating professionally with the individual, family, supervisors, and other members of the support team.
Respecting the individual's rights, dignity, privacy, preferences, and choices.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least 1 year of paid or volunteer experience providing care, training, habilitation, or support to adolescents or adults with developmental disabilities or related support needs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Dependable, punctual, and able to consistently work the agreed-upon schedule.
Ability to work independently and follow individualized support instructions.
CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain required certification.
Current TB screening/test or willingness to obtain one.
Ability to successfully complete required background screening and onboarding requirements.

Driving & Transportation

For assignments requiring client transportation, applicants must have:

A valid driver's license.
A reliable personal vehicle.
Current automobile insurance.
A safe driving record.
Willingness and ability to safely transport the client when required.

Approved client-related mileage is reimbursed at $0.50 per mile.
