Job Overview

Are you looking for a different type of public accounting environment? We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant specializing in public accounting to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering accurate financial reporting for diverse clients. Your expertise will support our mission to provide exceptional accounting services, leveraging your strong technical skills and comprehensive understanding of accounting principles. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your analytical skills and proactive approach will make a meaningful impact.

Duties

Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Assist with audit preparations, and compliance procedures.
Support tax filings by preparing schedules, reconciling tax accounts, and ensuring adherence to relevant tax laws.
Contribute to the development of financial reports, reports interpretation, and financial report writing for internal and external stakeholders.
Utilize various financial and tax software platforms such as QuickBooks, Ultra tax, Microsoft and payroll.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred but not required.
Proven experience in public accounting or corporate finance with a strong foundation in financial concepts including double-entry bookkeeping and accrual accounting.
Extensive knowledge of GAAP, regulatory compliance accounting, and technical accounting standards.
Proficiency with financial software including QuickBooks, are essential.
Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures, financial statement preparation, and audit processes.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately; experience with Excel data analysis is highly valued.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently.
