Full Job Description

An immediate part-time, 2-3 days a week position is available in our busy dermatology office.

We are seeking a medical assistant who is friendly and personable with excellent communication skills. One year experience in dermatology is desirable and experience with EMR a must.

Job involves working with three board certified dermatologists, each with a unique expertise and approach. You will learn to manage acne, rosacea, hair loss, document skin checks, and lesion evaluations.

in addition, you will learn about laser procedures, botox and filler treatments.

Ideal position and opportunity to learn about dermatology for anyone interested in becoming a dermatology PA, Nurse Practitioner or planning to apply to Medical School.

Qualifications:

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Excellent patient relation and customer services skills.
Must be professional, reliable and dedicated employee.
Prefer prior experience working in a medical environment, but will train the right candidate.
Medical Assistant Certified encouraged.

Responsibilities:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting the provider during office hours, including but not limited to:

Properly assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization and cosmetic procedures within established guidelines.
Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care offered to patients.
Have thorough knowledge of all clinical treatments in order to appropriately care for the patient’s needs. Proficient in pre-care and post-care treatment instructions. Fully understands provider to patient flow and anticipates provider’s next steps to the best of their ability.
Assist the physician in medical, cosmetic procedures. Preps exam rooms for all procedures and properly cleans exam rooms after every visit.
Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies as necessary.
Willingness to cross train in some administrative tasks.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $26.50 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 32.0 per week
