Urology Associates of Mobile was founded in 1948 on the idea of providing the highest quality urologic and urologic oncologic care possible, while remembering that we do not just treat the disease state but the person as well. Seventy years later, our physicians and staff still strive to complete this same mission. While our entire team is focused on keeping up-to-date with the latest in urologic and urologic oncologic therapies, treatments, and surgeries to ensure our patients receive the highest quality care possible, we also realize that compassionate care from the registration process to the physician experience is instrumental to the patient experience. We at Urology Associates of Mobile understand that there is more that we can offer outside the doors of our practice. That is why a number of our physicians spend their time on a number of worthy causes from providing healthcare to the less privileged in third world countries to researching and teaching new urologic and oncologic therapies that could benefit the many.

Summary of Job:
· Obtain pre-certification and benefits, alert patients of required copays/deductibles, and schedule all surgeries
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Obtain pre-certification and benefits for surgeries ordered by your assigned provider. Ensure pre-certification and benefits information is properly documented within the patient record.
2. If patient benefits show a deductible or copay, ensure collection of this payment prior to performing a surgery or in office study.
3. Schedule surgeries, imaging, and diagnostics tests for your assigned provider based on UAMPA protocol. Ensure both the patient and testing facility/hospital confirm the scheduled slot. Properly document all scheduling within the patient record and provide the patient both verbal and written details regarding their surgery/study.
4. Reschedule office appointments when replaced by a surgery.
5. Respond to all patient phone calls regarding surgery questions within 24 hours.
6. Maintain a professional and polite phone demeanor at all times
7. Perform other tasks as needed or directed by the UAMPA management team or physician partners.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
1. GED required
2. 3 + years of surgery/imaging scheduling experience required
Job Requirements:
1. Employee must be able to communicate clearly with patients.
2. Employee must be able to keep an organized workflow and effectively manage multiple tasks at one time.
3. Employee must be able to be active and mobile for an eight hour period.
