Full Job Description

Office Assistant

We are looking for a dependable Office Assistant in Akron, Ohio, to join a small manufacturing company. If you have strong organizational skills, office management experience, and a proactive attitude, we want to hear from you!

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys taking charge of daily operations and supporting a busy office environment. You will help maintain smooth workflow by handling administrative tasks, basic bookkeeping, inventory management, and supporting HR functions. The company relies on you to keep things organized and efficient in a fast-paced setting, and Jennie, our lead, will guide you through your responsibilities.

Hours
07:30am – 04:00pm, Monday – Friday

Pay
$20.00+/hour, based on experience and capabilities

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily office operations including supplies, equipment, files, and records
Ensure company policies and procedures are followed by all departments
Assist with bookkeeping, invoice processing, accounts payable, and receivable
Record and reconcile daily financial transactions
Process payroll, track time-off, and manage employee expense reports
Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with month-end closing
Handle purchase orders, maintain order and inventory records
Follow up on orders, resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers
Support inventory control and stock level monitoring
Assist with onboarding and maintaining employee records
Respond to employee inquiries about policies and benefits
Work with proprietary company software for accounting, purchasing, and record retention

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
At least 5 years of office administration or management experience
Experience in a manufacturing or production office environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and office management software
Knowledge of accounting software (ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks preferred)
1–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management
Knowledge of purchasing practices and basic contract terms
Understanding of employment laws and HR procedures
High level of confidentiality and professionalism

Nice to Have Skills

Experience working with proprietary or specialized company software
Strong computer literacy across multiple systems

Preferred Education and Experience

High school diploma (Bachelor’s degree a plus)
5+ years of office management in a manufacturing setting
Accounting or bookkeeping experience

Other Requirements

Must be physically able to work on-site
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
