Mission Statement

CDR is a disability led, not-for-profit corporation. We provide services to people with disabilities and seniors within the framework of an Independent Living Model which promotes independence of people with all types of disabilities, enabling choice in living setting, full access to the community, and control of their life.

CDR works for national, state, and local systemic change to advance the rights of people with disabilities by supporting direct action, coalition building, community organizing, policy analysis, litigation, training for advocates, and community education.

CDR advocates for the full integration, independence, and civil rights of people with disabilities.

JOB SUMMARY

To provide administrative and technical customer service assistance to various manager of local departments for CDR and affiliated agencies.

JOB Duties
As a representative of CDR, be committed in all that you do to support, perpetuate, and model the CDR Mission.
Answer incoming telephone calls, screen calls, and refers to proper manager of handling
Assists directly with routine inquiries
Answers routing inquiries from inside and outside the company on employment verification's, benefits claims processing (ticketing), and job openings in line with written company policies on these matters
Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned

VIII. Qualifications

Education Requirements
At least high school diploma, two year experience preferred
Experience with Microsoft office products
Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work
At least two years administrative experience
Personal Computer and word processor skills
Good communication skills
Bi Lingual English/Spanish

VIII. Essential Functions/Physical Requirements:

The Job Duties are representative of the essential functions of the position. The physical requirements for this position are those typically present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Reliable transportation is necessary, as there may be local day business travel required of this position.

Call Screening: How do you politely gather information from a caller to determine which staff member is best suited to help them?
Voicemail/Outbound Follow-up: Describe your process for returning customer voicemails. What steps do you take to ensure the consumer’s needs are met during a callback?
Abandoned Calls: If you notice a high number of abandoned calls, what actions would you take to assist your supervisor and improve response rates?
Confidentiality: Can you provide an example of how you have handled sensitive or confidential information in a previous role?
Professional Greeting: How do you maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor when greeting the public in person while also managing phone lines?
Independent Work: Tell me about a time you worked with minimum supervision. How did you ensure your tasks were completed accurately and on time?
