Full Job Description

Overview

The Plastek Group is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer for its Consumer Products Division located in Erie, PA! This is an excellent and exciting opportunity to work for a secure, progressive, and technologically advanced company.

Pay: Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications

Job Duties

Maintain and improve high performance, complex electro-mechanical assembly and robotic systems
Test and qualify prototype, production assembly, and robotic equipment
Suggest methods, materials and tooling modifications to improve processes
Create detailed, technical reports with data-driven results
Create work instructions and training materials to support processes
Recommend, develop and plan software initiatives
Integrate electrical and mechanical components and systems into an overall design

Job Knowledge

Working experience with finite element analysis (FEA)
Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAM) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAE)
Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ProE or other)
Adequate knowledge of engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, ProMechanica or similar)
Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge (Matlab, Excel, LabView etc)
Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.
Creativity and analytical skills
Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
Technical writing skills
Possess computer skills for programming & data entry
Able to read electrical/hydraulic ladder diagrams
Software changes and programming
PLC programmable controllers - specifically Allen Bradley controllers
Strong Mechanical background and capability
Diagnostic problem solving for malfunctioning equipment, perform corrective adjustments
Basic wiring, plumbing and electricity
Pneumatics and hydraulics
Machine shop methods and equipment (lathes, mills, saws, grinders)
