We are offering a $1,000 Sign-on Bonus paid out in full after 90 days of employment for this position!

Who we are looking for:

Are you the Family Advocate/Case Manager we have been looking for? The Children’s Advocacy Center of Bristol County provides services to children and intellectually disabled adults who have been victims of severe physical abuse, witness to violence, or sexual abuse. Our staff serve as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a sensitive and coordinated response to allegations and disclosures of child abuse. Using a collaborative approach and a child-centered, evidence-based model, our staff provide place and process for children, which enables the pursuit of justice, while minimizing the trauma experienced by the child and beginning the process of healing.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 to $26.00 per hour. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

JRI provides the training so that:

YOU will be responsible for supporting victims’ rights and coordination of services and court preparation for child victims and their families for all cases referred to the Children's Advocacy Center.
YOU will be a member of multidisciplinary team responding to allegations of child sexual/severe physical abuse, neglect, or witness to domestic violence.
YOU will establish and maintain connection with mental health/community providers to assess scope of service, credentialing, and insurance.
YOU will form a supportive relationship, conduct informal assessments, and provide case coordination and case management for children and family members as needed. You will refer non offending caregivers and family members to appropriate clinical services based on assessed need.
YOU will support ongoing victim and family advocacy needs and act as a primary source of communication between victims and the criminal justice process.
YOU will provide victims and families with information regarding legal issues, child abuse, systems, and roles. You will assist families with victim compensation needs and application, issues related to court procedures, court hearings, and can be present to support families at court proceedings as necessary.
YOU will provide support for victims during medical exams, forensic interviews, working with police, and maintain relationships with families such that if/when community support is needed (i.e. housing, school issues, etc.) the advocate can accompany and support the non-offending caregiver to meetings/appointments as deemed appropriate.
YOU will advocate for victim/family in case triage and case review MDT meetings.
YOU will execute mental health referrals, provide crisis management as needed, and assist with mental health service delivery, tracking, and mental health capacity building program.
YOU will maintain required documentation in NCAtrak (or any other tracking system) and maintain accurate tracking, charting, and documentation of all referred cases.
YOU will assist with community outreach, education, and professional development training as needed.
YOU will assist with agency functions related to operations and service delivery.
YOU will participate in agency fundraising, grant writing, and other documentation and statistical requirements as needed. Participation in fundraising events during the day and evening is required.

Requirements:

Candidates must a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology or related field, plus a working knowledge of the criminal and civil court system and victim’s rights laws.
Good organizational, communication, and networking skills a plus.
Candidates must be proficient with computer skills.
Bilingual candidates are preferred (Spanish or Portuguese).
Minimal physical effort generally required to perform work in an office environment; required to stand, walk, listen, and talk for long periods of time; occasionally may lift up to 30 pounds, such as audio-visual equipment, moving tables and chairs, and setting up for special events.
Travel to various courts within Bristol County and to meetings, satellite locations, and events is required.
Background and driving record checks will be performed.
