Carpenter / Restoration Technician
Company:

Office Location:
Fall River, Massachusetts
Pay Range: $18.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on actual skill level, tools, vehicle, licensing, insurance, documentation ability, communication ability, and ability to work independently.
New England Property Services Group, LLC is a residential property restoration company that performs and coordinates restoration, repair, and construction related work throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
We are looking for a Carpenter / Restoration Technician who can assist with residential restoration projects involving carpentry, roofing repairs, siding, exterior envelope issues, water intrusion, attic conditions, insulation, drywall, plaster, painting, flooring, trim, cabinetry, demolition, temporary repairs, and related residential repair work.
This is not a basic laborer position. We are looking for someone with real hands-on carpentry and repair skills, good field judgment, strong documentation habits, and the ability to communicate clearly with the office.
The right person should be able to perform skilled work, identify areas of concern, take clear before, during, and after photos, write clear notes, and help move projects forward professionally.
This may be a good fit for someone who has experience as a carpenter, restoration technician, construction supervisor, remodeling contractor, roofing repair technician, project lead, or skilled tradesperson.
It may also be a good fit for someone who has been self-employed or operated independently in the trades, but is now looking for a more consistent in-house position.
Typical work may include:
Finished carpentry, trim, doors, windows, baseboard, casing, and interior finish work
General carpentry, framing repairs, sheathing, fascia, rake boards, soffit, siding details, and exterior repairs
Sheetrock, plaster, painting, flooring, tile, snap-lock flooring, prefinished flooring, and cabinet installation
Roofing repairs, leak investigation, temporary tarping or patching, flashing concerns, roof penetrations, and water intrusion repairs
Attic inspections, insulation issues, ventilation awareness, safe attic access, and documenting visible concerns
Controlled demolition, containment setup, dust control, floor protection, PPE, and job site cleanup
Sketching rooms, taking measurements, identifying materials, preparing field notes, and helping develop scopes of work
Using or learning documentation tools, measuring tools, sketching tools, photo documentation systems, and estimating related programs
Communicating with homeowners, office staff, vendors, subcontractors, and other trades
Helping coordinate reliable trades, including plumbers, electricians, roofers, siding installers, plasterers, painters, flooring installers, HVAC contractors, and other construction professionals
Preference will be given to candidates who have their own truck or work vehicle, tools, ladders, PPE, Rhode Island Contractor Registration, Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor Registration, Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License, OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, trade insurance, or strong prior experience operating independently.
This position requires reliable transportation and the ability to travel to Rhode Island and Massachusetts project locations.
Some days may involve reporting to the office, while other days may involve going directly to a project location.
Candidates should be available for normal business hours and should understand that restoration work may sometimes require early starts, later finishes, occasional evening needs, or occasional weekend emergency response when there is an active leak, temporary repair, or urgent project issue. This role involves hands-on residential construction and restoration work.
Candidates must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including using tools, working indoors and outdoors, using ladders, accessing attics or confined residential work areas when safe and required, observing property conditions, taking photos, writing notes, lifting and carrying materials, and following safety instructions.
Compensation is listed at $18.00 to $25.00 per hour.
Compensation will depend on actual skill level, reliability, tools, vehicle, licensing, insurance, ability to work independently, ability to supervise others, documentation ability, communication skills, and overall fit.
If you believe your experience supports compensation above the posted range, you may explain that in your application or follow-up response.
Please apply through Indeed and answer all screening questions.
Once you apply, we may request additional information to further evaluate your experience, skill level, availability, compensation expectations, earliest available start date, interview availability, and photos of work you personally completed or supervised, if available.
Complete and timely responses are appreciated because this role requires strong communication, attention to detail, documentation, and follow-through.
