Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Buyer to join our procurement team and assist the Purchasing Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management and materials management, with experience in analyzing market trends, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure that the company’s product or service procurement needs are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Procurement Management

Source, negotiate, and secure agreements with suppliers to optimize costs while maintaining quality and reliability.
Evaluate supplier performance and manage relationships to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand procurement needs and specifications.

Inventory Planning and Management

Utilize ERP systems to analyze inventory levels and demand forecasts.
Develop and implement effective inventory control strategies to minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
Monitor stock levels to ensure product availability and timely order fulfillment.

Demand Forecasting

Collaborate with production and materials to analyze market trends and demand patterns.
Generate accurate demand forecasts to support effective inventory planning.

Negotiation Skills

Engage in negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contract agreements.
Continuously seek opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization through negotiation.

Data Analysis  

Analyze data from ERP systems to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Prepare and present reports to management on key performance indicators and procurement metrics.

Qualifications:

Associate degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Minimum 2 years preferred 4 – 5 years’ experience in procurement, buying, or planning roles.
Strong experience working with ERP systems, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
Proven negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices in procurement.
Proficient in Microsoft Office
