POSITION DESCRIPTION
A laborer, or general laborer, is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at a construction site. Their duties will include to assist operating and maintaining various machines, load and unload frequently heavy materials, and follow directions from supervisors and other skilled tradesmen. To do well in this role you should be physically capable, reliable and a hard worker.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
2. Maintain all safety standards, adhering to all construction safety standards including wearing correct safety equipment and use caution when operating heavy equipment.
3. Help equipment operators, and other skilled laborers when necessary.
4. Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
5. Load and unload construction materials.
6. Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as traffic control devices, barriers and shoring.
7. Remove, fill or compact earth roads.
8. Assist contractors on projects.
9. Ability to learn on-the-job training.
10. Perform site clean-up
11. Follow instructions from supervisors.
12. Other job related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
1. Physical dexterity, stamina and excellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to: grasp, assemble and lift objects, stand, sit and walk for extended periods over uneven surfaces, squat, bend, climb ladders onto equipment or other objects, and potentially lie down.
2. Lifting, pushing, pulling of heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs. or more.
3. Ability to safely operate various vehicles and equipment.
4. Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
5. Ability to work in all weather.
6. Workers must be punctual and reliable.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Be at least 18 years of age.
2. Must have valid driver’s license or must be able to obtain driver’s license at time of employment.
3. Experience as general laborer in construction is preferred, but not required.
4. Commitment to workplace safety.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Attentive to details and alert at all times to ensure safety.
2. Familiarity with power and hand tools is essential.

Pay: $17.22 - $20.56 per hour
