Full Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Mental Health Liaisons provide skills development and Incredible Years groups. Liaisons coordinate mental health services and work with families to ensure continuity of services. Liaisons are responsible for implementing treatment plans, and provide skills coaching and support to school staff.

School Liaisons are expected to work with school staff, students, and families to create understanding and continuity of services. School Liaisons are expected to understand, implement and coach Incredible Years. Sone evening work required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a Bachelor’s in a behavioral science field and a minimum of two years’ experience, or a Master's degree in behavioral science field. Training and experience in Incredible Years is strongly preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Clinical Responsibilities are conducted under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor:

Coordinate mental health services for students. Identifying needs and ensuring families can access services, and utilize grants for uninsured or under-insured children.
Provide coaching, consultation and training for school staff as directed.
Liaison provides skills training as appropriate for individual treatment plans.
School Liaison facilitates Dina School groups. Liaison are trained in Incredible Years to ensure consistent programming.
Provide in-home skills training to school based students.
Administrative responsibilities include:

Complete notes for services rendered in keeping with policy.
Attend treatment team meetings as necessary
Contribute to the development of agency policies and procedures as requested
Complete time management reports weekly
Complete staff time sheet/expense logs monthly
Participate in supervision activities

Expected professional and team behavior includes:

Dress appropriately for the job

Flexibility when situations change, and re-prioritizing tasks if needed

Perform other duties as required or assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The school liaison must be physically capable. For example, s/he may need to participate in physical recreational activities with the child. S/he may also need to conduct physical intervention procedures with children, such as escort or restraint procedures in the event safety concerns arise.

Under normal circumstances the employee will need to have the physical capacity to continuously use his/her hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulation. The employee may be required to do the following:

Lift and carry 25-100 lbs.

Push / Pull

Squat / Kneel / Stoop

Bend

Twist upper, and lower back

The expectation of this position is for the physical capacity to provide physical intervention with clients when this is needed. Physical intervention includes, but is not limited to implementing physical guidance, physical restraint, and physical transport procedures. It is expected that if the school liaison cannot perform these potentially vigorous activities, even temporarily, the supervisor will be immediately informed.
