Details
Coordinate Student Support for Pathway Program
Provide academic advising based on NACADA Core Competencies guiding framework for all students in the Pathway program
Assist students with academic planning, both at NDSU and at NDSCS
Assist students with academic difficulty, including providing proactive outreach and other strategies to improve academic performance.
Refer students as needed to other student support services (financial aid, counseling, center for writers, etc.).
Discuss career goals, outcomes, and resources with students utilizing Handshake, FOCUS2, and other available resources.

Maintain frequent outreach and timely communication with students and scale it based on recorded student support need.
Collaborate with NDSCS Pathway coordinator to prepare and lead orientation sessions
Track academic outcomes of students and provide a written report each year
Teach both a first-year experience and resiliency course
Coordinate support for special student populations
Identify and plan outreach to students who may need additional support
Collaborate with Assistant Director, Student Success Initiatives to create an outreach and communication plan
Work with advisors across campus to track academic progress of these students
Coordinate teaching for success-based classes
Training, Development, Collaboration
In coordination with Career and Advising Center, engage in strategies to implement NDSU mission, vision, and strategic plan.
Participate in ongoing training for accurate information on innovative and effective advising and career development techniques.
Assist in developing training related to student success.
Attend and support all staff meetings and events as required within the Career and Advising Center.
Maintain regular involvement with faculty, administrators, and related campus offices (Registration & Records, Student Success Programs, etc.) for academic curriculum, policy/procedure and other pertinent updates.
Support and engage, as appropriate, with major admission events (Discover Days, National College Fair, etc.).
Represent academic advising on campus committees as requested.
Work Schedule:
Hiring Range: $52,000 - $55,000 depending upon experience
Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling, Student Affairs, Psychology or related field
2 + year of student engagement on a college campus (can include work/volunteer experience as an undergraduate student)
Strong organizational and time management skills
Demonstrated strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience providing customer service
Ability to work independently
Evidence of contributing to a positive team environment
Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft products
Preferred Qualifications:
Three years of experience in student support, academic advising, or a related role
Experience teaching, presenting, or training
