Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-time Dental Receptionist to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and a welcoming environment for all patients. This position offers flexible hours and an opportunity to grow within a supportive healthcare setting.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient check-in and check-out processes using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
Schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and coordinate with clinical staff to optimize daily clinic flow
Handle incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing clear information and directing inquiries appropriately using multi-line phone systems
Collect and process payments, perform medical collections, and assist with billing procedures in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Review and update patient records, ensuring accuracy in documentation review, medical terminology, and health information management
Assist with insurance verification, including knowledge of health insurance policies like Medicare and understanding of CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding for billing purposes
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, manage filing of medical records, and support administrative tasks such as data entry using Microsoft Office tools
Support clinical staff by managing care plans documentation and ensuring adherence to confidentiality policies

Qualifications

Prior experience in a medical or dental office setting is preferred, but willing to train the right person.
Excellent customer service skills combined with phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management
Positive attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment

We are looking for someone for Mondays 7:45-5:00 and Fridays 7:45-3:30 with availability to cover vacation times.
