The Innovation Campus Experience Operations Intern supports the day-to-day execution of daily + important tasks at the Grand Farm Innovation Campus. This role helps keep the campus prepared, organized, clean, visitor-ready, and functional during a high-activity season involving tours, partner visits, field trials, construction activity, events, and demonstrations. As part of the Experience Team, this role will be responsible for logistics while also aligning with our standard of Unreasonable Hospitality.
This internship offers hands-on exposure to event operations, campus logistics, agricultural innovation, and partner engagement within a fast-paced innovation ecosystem.
This is an execution-focused role designed to support the team by handling repeatable, hands-on tasks so higher-scope team members can stay focused on partner management, project execution, field operations, and strategic work.
The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, organized, and willing to do whatever small tasks are needed to keep the campus running well. This person should be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors and should take pride in making the campus look and operate at a high level.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
Campus Readiness
- Help keep the Innovation Campus clean, organized, and presentable.
- Prepare spaces before tours, meetings, events, and partner visits.
- Set up and tear down chairs, tables, signage, tents, displays, and basic equipment.
- Check that meeting spaces, restrooms, common areas, and outdoor areas are visitor-ready.
Visitor and Event Support
- Support campus tours, partner visits, demonstrations, and special events.
- Greet guests when needed and help direct visitors to the right location.
- Assist with general event logistics.
- Help ensure the campus experience feels professional and organized.
- Create an overall atmosphere of hospitality for guests of the Innovation Shop.
Facilities and Operations Support
- Perform light facilities tasks such as organizing supplies, moving materials, restocking items, and basic cleanup.
- Help monitor campus needs and report issues to supervisor.
- Support basic inventory tracking for supplies, signage, event materials, and campus equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or current college enrollment preferred.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently.
- Comfortable with physical work, including lifting, moving, setup, and outdoor tasks.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Interest in agriculture, technology, events, operations, or nonprofit work is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to continuously stand or walk during events
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and operating equipment.
- Comfortable working in various indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to inclement weather conditions.
- Capable of occasionally lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Engage in remote conversations on a daily basis via multiple telecommunication methods.
- These physical requirements must be met with or without accommodation.
Work Environment
- Flexible, dynamic work environment with primary locations in Fargo, ND and the Innovation Campus in Casselton, ND.
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours, including evenings or weekends, to meet needs.
- May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
- May occasionally climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces.
- May occasionally work outdoors with temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
- Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
