Full Job Description

Must reside in Otter Tail or Douglas county.

JOB FUNCTION:

Recruit child care programs to join Parent Aware and support all Parent Aware participants on the path to quality through coaching and technical assistance. Implement the Parent Aware coaching model with fidelity and document all work and required data.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

One of the following:

o Associates degree in child development, early childhood education, family science or related field

o Current CDA Credential

§ AND ability to attain a minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent credits in early childhood education/child development within three years

Practical experience working directly with young children in an early childhood setting, including implementation of curriculum, assessment, observations and behavioral supports

Valid Driver’s License and current vehicle insurance

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in child development, early childhood education, family science or related field

Have a current PreK-3rd CLASS Reliability Certificate

Lived experience or a history working with individuals with low incomes

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Implement Program Activities:

a) Coordinate and implement coaching and technical assistance with providers to facilitate quality improvements

b) Partner with the Parent Aware Recruiter to recruit child care centers and family child care programs to participate in Parent Aware

c) Provide relationship-based professional development, including coaching and technical assistance, to support participants in achieving quality improvement goals

d) Foster a welcoming and collaborative learning environment by building strengths-based relationships with providers, assessing program needs, and developing measurable quality improvement goals

e) Implement the Parent Aware Quality Coaching Model with fidelity, following current policies, procedures, and implementation guidelines

f) Collaborate with Child Care Aware district staff, including Professional Development Advisors, CLASS Coaches, and Grant Administrators, to coordinate quality coaching services, training requirements, and Parent Aware grant implementation

g) Develop and facilitate ongoing adult learning opportunities, including Communities of Practice and Professional Learning Communities, to promote continuous quality improvement

h) Maintain current knowledge of early childhood education, adult learning principles, and evidence-based best practices to provide high-quality coaching and support

Community Outreach and Relationships:

a) Establish and maintain positive mentoring relationships with Parent Aware participants, modeling, teaching and learning best practices

b) Develop and maintain productive relationships with community partners and identify opportunities for other CAPLP Child Care Aware staff to be involved in partner work

c) Represent CAPLP in professional early childhood associations, area Early Childhood Initiatives, and other regional community events and meetings

d) Participate in Regional, District and State meetings as necessary

e) Attend a minimum of two outreach events per calendar year

Data and Documentation

a) Adhere to established professional, ethical, and legal standards, including maintaining confidentiality, protecting data privacy, and fulfilling mandated reporter responsibilities

b) Utilize computer software and data management systems to communicate effectively, maintain accurate records, enter and retrieve data, update databases, and complete required reports in a timely manner

c) Provide technical assistance to child care professionals by supporting their Develop accounts and addressing technology-related needs

d) Document program quality improvement through photographs, narratives, and other approved methods to demonstrate progress and outcomes

e) Develop and maintain resources, tools, and materials to support providers and program quality improvement efforts as needed

Agency and Division Support

a) Represent Agency in communities we serve

b) Align and build on efforts to achieve a shared vision and common goals in serving people

c) Assist with Agency projects as requested

d) Attend and participate in agency, community and state meetings as requested

e) Participate in agency provided trainings and seek out additional training to enhance professional development

f) Assist with onboarding and training of Agency team members as requested

g) Compile and submit required documentation

h) Availability to work designated Agency hours for your Division and positio
