Full Job Description

Accounts Payable Specialist
Join the expanding team in our new state of the art 132 bed behavioral health facility!

Prairie St. John's has been providing services for children, adolescents, and adults to address behavioral health and substance use challenges since 1997. Prairie offers inpatient hospitalization, day treatment, and intensive outpatient services. Accredited by The Joint Commission, we are the largest, freestanding behavioral health facility in the region. More than 5,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Prairie St. John's.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team and help us manage the vital financial operations that keep our facility running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

Process and verify invoices, and vendor payments accurately.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
Manage high-volume AP processing while maintaining strict healthcare confidentiality.
Provide support to the Senior Accountant or Patient Accounts when needed.
Assist with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
2+ years of proven Accounts Payable or general bookkeeping experience.
Experience in the healthcare industry or a hospital setting is a strong plus.
High proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
