Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team. You will manage the day-to-day financial recordkeeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance across various accounting functions. You will help ensure the integrity of our financial data, support future budgeting and reporting processes. This position offers an opportunity to apply your accounting skills in a collaborative environment committed to hard work and family values.

Duties

Record and process all financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems
Reconcile bank statements and perform general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing and payment scheduling
Prepare journal entries, perform balance sheet reconciliation, and maintain the integrity of the general ledger in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Assist with payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments while complying with tax regulations
Generate detailed financial reports, including budget analysis, account analysis, and monthly closing statements
Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly

Requirements

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or equivalent systems
Solid understanding of accounting standards (GAAP), double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and financial concepts
Experience with governmental accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus
Ability to perform bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately
Excellent attention to detail with high accuracy in data entry (10 key typing skills preferred)
Knowledge of payroll processing, tax experience, and government reporting requirements is desirable
An eagerness to seek out customers and collaborate on paperwork in order to receive payments
Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and external auditors
