Description & Details:
This project is a Soybean Commodity Survey funded by USDA-APHIS. The person hired into this position will lead the survey efforts with the goal of early detection of invasive or emerging soybean pests and pathogens. This will be a collaborative project between several faculty members within PPMB specializing in fungal pathogens, nematology, entomology, and the NDSU Plant Diagnostic Lab.
Work Schedule:
12-month, full-time with possibility of renewal based on performance and funding
Hiring Range:
$50,000-$55,000/depending on experience
Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Plant Pathology, Entomology, Agronomy, Biology, or related field.
Experience in basic molecular techniques such as DNA extraction and PCR.
Demonstrate ability to work independently and report findings.
Excellent communication, organization skills, and mentoring skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in applied, field-based research.
Experience in diagnostics of plant pathogens and/or insect pests.
