Environmental Services Technician
Summary
Environmental Services Technicians are responsible for disinfecting, cleaning, and maintaining the hospital environment using proper techniques, chemicals and best practices. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: Medical/Surgical Unit, Birth Center, Cancer Care and Infusion Center, Surgery Center, Imaging, Emergency Department, and Clinic. Days of the week and shift times are subject to change depending on needs of the Environmental Services Department.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is $18.02–$25.43. This range reflects the base salary for this position.
Key Accountabilities
Properly use work sheets, time sheets, and logs.
Prioritize daily work schedule.
Use a computer for time tracking, emails, and testing.
Work in all areas of Environmental Services (including laundry, and courier services).
Sweep, dust mop, wet mop, and vacuum; empty trash containers, recycling containers, linen hampers.
Clean and disinfect bathrooms using proper chemicals and techniques.
Use scrubbers, buffers, carpet machines, vacuums and other powered equipment.
Properly handle hazardous waste and regulated medical waste.
Set up cleaning cards and restock Environmental Services closets.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age
Basic math skills
Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment
Basic computer skills
Crisis Prevention Institute Foundations Course Certification or obtain within six months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
Schedule
16 hours per two-week pay period (0.2 FTE)
Saturday and Sunday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM; Week 1: Saturday, Week 2: Sunday
