Job Description

Patient Registration is performed with accuracy when verifying patient information.

Verify that medical record content is complete prior to the patient's admission.

Make sure all annotations for patient insurance verifications are in the chart.

Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email.

Go through the schedule a day or two before and make sure everything is all set.

Check emails/fax and file documents appropriatly

Work with the billing dept on collecting patient balances at time of visit

Scheduling appointment/doctor reference for the assigned doctor.

Be a team player, be willing to change things to make things easier, communicate with team members.

Keeping track of referral status.

Checking all balances and letting the patient know and/or communicating with the billing department.

Appointments: Appointments are made via phone or directly in person by the patient after his/her last exam. All information is obtained and scheduled as soon as possible according to the doctors’ schedule. We also do appts through online website requests.

Scheduling Changes: At times, emergency surgery will occur where the physician is unable to keep appointments. Each patient must be called and made aware of the situation. It is up to the scheduler to cancel appointments and reschedule the patient where it is appropriate.
