Job Description:
Longwood University invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Fiscal Technician / Financial Services Specialist I (00267) in Accounts Payable. The successful candidate will be responsible for auditing, verifying, and processing travel expense reimbursement vouchers through Emburse, invoices, and local expenditures for payment through Banner and Cardinal computer systems. The Fiscal Technician will also audit, verify, and approve state-funded Bank of America credit card charges in the Bank of America Works system in preparation for posting to Banner. This position is responsible for departmental annual inventories, assisting the AP Manager with records disposition, and answering incoming phone calls, emails, and questions from faculty, staff, students, and vendors regarding policies and payments.
This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University's campus.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serve as primary contact for the Emburse travel reimbursement system

Process travel expense reimbursement vouchers through Emburse

Scan all documents into DocFinity as needed daily or as requested by supervisor

Audit Small Purchase Charge Card (SPCC) - Perform duties of the accountant role in Bank of America Works for the SPCC automated reconciliation process

Assist the AP Manager with ensuring batches are ready to upload to Banner promptly

Work closely with Procurement Services and departments to streamline and improve the SPCC process

Provide receptionist support as part of shared office responsibilities

Maintain current and accurate W-9 records

Assist the AP Manager by taking annual inventory and transferring old inventory to surplus

Assist the AP Manager in ensuring that records disposition procedures are carried out in accordance with the Library of Virginia policy

Assist with Banner testing of upgrades and new releases
-
Ensure internal controls are present for all payable processes and notify supervisors of any concerns

Process invoices through the Banner system for state expenditures

Process Cardinal-only entries
-
Maintain vendor files
-
Process local checks as needed
Job Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent
-
Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and perform detailed work

Experience with verifying accuracy of financial or transactional data

Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and evaluate data
-
Proven ability to apply and interpret policies and procedures
-
Experience with maintaining financial or accounting records
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Experience with state policies a plus

Knowledge of basic office machines, to include phone, copier, scanner, calculator, etc.

Knowledge of computer systems (Banner, Cardinal, BOA Works, DocFinity, Emburse, etc.) preferred
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, classified, non-exempt position in pay band 4. The anticipated salary range for this position is $45,739 - $50,000 annually. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
