As a Human Resources Consultant in our Employee Relations Division, you’ll play an essential role in prompting a positive, compliant, and supportive workplace. This position provides guidance on employee relations matters such as administering FMLA and unemployment processes, and supporting the development and enforcement of HR policies and procedures. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and two (2) years of experience in personnel administration in the assigned area, or generalist capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Management Preference: SPHR or PHR preferred
Necessary additional requirements: Candidates identified as highly qualified will be contacted by Human Resources via email to complete required testing. A minimum score of 35 net words per minute on the keyboarding assessment is required for further consideration. Candidates who successfully meet this requirement will then proceed to complete four additional Employee Relations–related assessments which include Sentence Clarity, Reading Comprehension, Business Correspondence and Applying Policies.

Knowledge of professional Human Resources principles, practices, and methodologies
Knowledge of County personnel policies and procedures, as well as applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Knowledge of personnel administration principles, including employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive personnel records, medical information, and employee matters
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, department directors, and other stakeholders

Ability to maintain effective personnel programs and to provide data and program accomplishments
